The Basics

Andrew Solomon received a B.Sc.(Hons I) and Ph.D. from the School of Mathematics at the University of Sydney. After academic positions at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver and the University of Technology, Sydney he is now based in London.

With support from the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, Andrew is a contributor to LinuxConfig - a guide to Linux shell scripting and system configuration, and a developer of Linuxgym - a multi-platform online learning tool for Bash and Perl programming skills based on Linux and VMware.
